Heartland struck for four second-half goals as it defeated the Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team 5-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hawks took a 1-0 lead into halftime behind a goal in the 26th minute, then added on in the 50th, 64th, 68th and 90th minutes. Iram Baylon connected for two of the Heartland goals.
The Chargers (6-8-2) were outshot 17-5 and had just one shot on goal to the Hawks’ 12.
